J. Marc Lord, CFA, CFP®, EA

A native of San Diego, Marc worked in a tax preparation office while attending college at San Diego State University. While at the tax office he designed and implemented the addition of financial services to the firm. Upon graduation from San Diego State University with a Bachelors of Science in Finance, Marc began his own business focusing on financial planning and investment advisory for individuals and small businesses, which he still operates today.

Marc earned his Certified Financial Planner® certificate in 2004, along with completing post graduate work in Financial Planning at University of California Riverside.

Marc is also a CFA® charterholder, having earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 2024.

Marc achieved his tax preparation license in 1998, and has also earned the Enrolled Agent designation, which is the highest credential the IRS awards.

Marc has received recognition as a Five Star Wealth Manager in San Diego Magazine more than 10 times. He has also been on the Board of Directors for several tax education organizations around Southern California for more than 20 years. Marc served on the Board of Directors for the Southern California Tax Professionals, where he is a past President. He also previously served on the Board of the California Society of Tax Consultants. Marc is currently a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute, and was previously a member of the Financial Planning Association of San Diego.

Marc is married to his high school sweetheart, and they have 4 wonderful children.
